Above Patagonia

 

Of course, now that I was leaving, the sun was out and the sky blue.

 

There are three volcanoes in this picture. One is right behind the one on the right, barely peeking out.

 

 

 

 

People to manage to get through this to go south, but they use 4x4s and dirt bikes.

 

There are small towns or villages down there, and some roads, but most of them lead to the water. Patagonia is a fantastic and forbidding place.

 

 

Near the end of the mountain range we crossed an immense glacier.

 

And then the land was flat and wet. A dramatic change from what we left behind

 

 

A land covered with trees still in the clutches of winter and a landscape, in a way, no less intimidating than Patagonia
